Update 9-1-09
Dear friends, the Plea For Peace center has now been open for 10 months. Very exciting considering the current economic situation here in the US of A. To be honest, we are having some financial problems, but we hope to continue to keep the doors open to our center, providing a drug and alcohol free environment for the youth of Stockton, California.
We ask that anybody out there who has experience with writing grants for non-profits get in touch with us if they can help in that department. We are looking at any and all fund raising ideas/projects, etc, so get in touch if you have ideas to throw our way.. Also, if you happen to live in the STOCKTON area and would like to rent out a room for a practice space or if you need an industrial space(there is a good 2,500 sq ft of room) for stuff like screen printing for garments, print shop, or basically anything that needs space then get in touch as we'd like to rent out some of our space to help us afford to keep afloat.
You can see all the events happening at plea for peace by going to this link: http://www.myspace.com/pleaforpeacecenterstockton We are located at the following location:
PLEA FOR PEACE CENTER
630 E WEBER AVE
STOCKTON, CA. 95202
This is an exciting time for us, but there is still lots for us to learn. We hope that the longer we are open, the more knowledge and skills will be learned to open up centers across the United States. A center that will be open year round for kids who have interests other than sports or the normal medium that schools and peers deem as normal. A center that will give youth an outlet to perform music, create art, dance, and talk to others with similar interests.
We are excited to see what PLEA FOR PEACE can do to help create a strong foundation for our youth.
Peace always,
Mike Park For more information, booking info., etc.. email our events coordinator Middaugh Goodwyn at beathappymusic@aol.com to email mike park: mikeasianman@aol.com
